We are moving full time to a village near Vasto in July, we are bringing two cars with us one is a our general use car which we have insured for a year with stuart collins for 12months unlimited EU use, which after we have got our italian citizenship we will sell back in the UK and purchase a car locally, the other vehicle is a cherished 16year old two seater that we want to keep, I am not apposed to registering it in Italy, however I am being told I cannot insure a car older than ten years fully comprehensively, back in the uk I have it insured as a modern classic on a 3000miles per anum policy and on a fixed value. which is what I would like to do again, how do people in Italy go about insuring old classics etc.. are there any motoring clubs that can be of help ? I can continue to insure it in the UK but have to return it each year to Tax and MOT, and the each way trip alone wipes out most of the 3000miles.any advice would be appreciated
