I thought I would start a new thread on this for easy access.
Anyone have any idea on pricing for an external chimney from a pellet stove to reach above the roof line on the 2nd floor of a house. I am posting on behalf of a friend who is not well enough to do her own research, so forgive me for being vague.
I have a very good friend who is being harassed by a previous partner by phone.I remember in the UK that British Telecom had steps they could take to prevent nuisance calls of this nature.
Following on from another thead, what will happen to the ever increasingly aged farming communities, now that their children no longer want to work on the land?
So now being in possession of our permanent residency, apart from health care issues (and the rather nice baseball hat from the Sindico) what other advantages can we expect ?.
An Aesops fables moment (OK I know that was grapes....) I went down to check on our large cherry tree, bent over with the weight of cherries this year and surprised two large adult foxes doing the same thing.

Thanks Al, you are describing exactly our situation, thanks everyone for being helpul and thanks to Penny for her advice all much appreciated. So I shall continue to be kicked off mid prose, lets hope this makes it before it decides to have another "rest......boh."
Obviously if it were simple Beeryspice, I and others would not be asking questions, and this forum would probably not survive, mostly the answers are helpful and polite. Even after 5 years it is still a learning process, perhaps I might some day reach the dizzy heights of "knowing it all" but doubt it. Meanwhile am happy to exchange and share information.
Thanks Dylano, prob not long enough, Sprostoni, would appeciate details of your guy in Falerone.
Thanks we know the guys at global multimedia and whilst always helpful have not really found a solution to the problem , have also had telecom Italia out to check the line, so running out of ideas and patience, perhaps we need a magic wand!
Slightly at a tangent, I am given differing advice regarding payment for tests and visits to specialists. And remain confused. What are the guidelines regarding payment?.I will have been resident for 5 yrs after Feb2011, am over 60, and have my Tessera. I was also wondering if charges were income based. Perhaps Sebastiano as a long term resident can give a definative answer.
Amazing what the NHS can come up with, probably fortunate I live in Italy, I take it you may be joking, but can someone lend me the bible just in case! Oh and for daytime use have discovered Vape Derm Herbal wipes, have not been bitten but then it is pouring with rain here in Marche today.
Sad news, Carol was a founder member of this community and willingly shared her wealth of knowledge and love of Italy with us all. She will be missed by the many that she has helped.
Skin so Soft may be more pleasant and I have tried it here in Italy as an alternative to Deet, it doesnt work for me, but will try the citronella oil as an alternative.
Products with Deet, especially good is Boots Repel, apply in the morning, and reapply after a shower in the early evening. If bitten use Fargan, an Italian ointment bought in the farmacia, this is the first year that I havent suffered from bites. And at night in the bedroom use the plug in mozzi guard. If you stick to this regime everyday you will have a much more pleasant summer!.
It is always wise to get more than one quote, but I do take exception to the comment that Italians are sometimes out to fleece you because you are foreign, it hasnt been our experience after nearly 5 yrs living here. The number of events we used to go to when a bunch of ex-pats main topic of conversation was how they had been cheated. I would suggest that misunderstanding and a total lack of language skills and a lack of effort in trying to learn Italian was the culprit rather than a wish on the Italians part to be dishonest.
