After many trips to southern Marche, and not being able to find a house we liked enough to buy, we stumbled upon an old rustico with about a hectare of land that needs to be demolished and rebuilt.

Thanks Kica,The towns that you have mentioned are among those that we have been visiting for a long time now and we do really like them along with several others in the area. The prices of houses, though, still are quite high and we have yet to find a house that we are interested in buying. We have been coming to southern Marche for about 9 years now and do really like the area. We are not sure, though, how lively it is in the winter. We do intend on living in Italy year round.
Thanks John.I will take a look. We really hadn't considered towns close to the sea but it could be a possibility. The town we currently live in has about 9000 people. Not sure if this might be a bit big for us. The other important factor for my husband is to have a garden as he really enjoys working the land.
Thanks for the feedback. We will certainly give it our consideration. Not sure, though, about the weather and earthquake potential.
Hi Georgette,I am still unable to past the text that I have in my Microsoft Word program. I will also send you an e-mail.Sincerely,Lisa
We don't need an accountant in a specific area yet as we still have a few years before retirement. We need to speak with someone now who can help tell us what our taxes will be on our investment income, retirement plan and social security benefits. We are doing this so that we know how much we will need each year to live on and when we will be able to do retire, partly based on how much our taxes will be. We are already registered in the small comune where most of my husband's family comes from but I seriously doubt that they will be able to help us.
Grazie mille Ugo.
No problem, Steve, thanks for clearing that up. As far as the Microsoft issue, will try playing around more with it when I have a chance. Just wanted to post my Abruzzo questions on this Forum too.
Hi Steve,According to the link's description, Marco Faieta is a notaio, not a commercialista. Did he provide accounting services to you?Lisa
Thanks very much Ugo. They don't need to speak English as my husband is fluent, having attended U. of Pisa so if there issomeone in particular you feel would be best, please do let us know.
Thanks so much for posting the links. I am sure that I will enjoy reading them. We have been coming to Le Marche for the past 8 or 9 years and I do really love the area. We are hoping if we can find something between the mountains and the sea that the winter will not be too bad. We really like the southern Marche and are considering the area around Montelparo or Offida.
