Was thinking about doing a wiki thing in the Marche Clubhouse about top tips ie if we find somewhere that may be of use to others - like where to fix strimmers or where to get a bargain on wine or a good spot to visit etc What do you think.

Can anyone give us some top tips for visiting Milan. My sister is stopping over there for 2 nights when she visits us in June and was wondering if anyone knew of any good, cheap hotels, places to dine, sights to see etc.Thanks for your help.

Have sent you a message with a couple of ideas Donna and Jimmy - you will love Le Marche - it is really beautiful and we were just saying the other day that some parts are so much like New Zealand!
Hi Jacquie, We always drive down to Le Marche via Austria - love the route, even though it is slightly longer. The quickest we did it was 25 hours from North Yorkshire to Amandola non-stop. The route avoids Switzerland (we had problems at the boarder there once and it took 2 hours to empty the car and re-load it again, even though it was just bits of furniture we were bringing!). We go through France, Belgium, Luxumbourg (fill up with the cheapest fuel we have found anywhere, just off the motorway), Germany, Austria (via the Brenner Pass) then down past Lake Garda - itis a lovely, varied drive and doesn't get too boaring. There are some great hotels just off the Brenner Pass and the Austrian food is just wonderful - we also call in at the supermarket to stock up on supplies of hauswurst and other delicious bits and pieces we don't have here in Le Marche on the way down. Carole, thanks so much - new I could rely on you! That sounds perfect. It was very sad as Vince left Italy for the UK when he was 6 I think, and never returned. Such a shame he did not see more of this wonderful country.

Thanks so much Carole and Ram - had a quote for Italsure and it was €1261 - Direct line, so far around €800 but then I am probably not putting in the correct bonus/ malus figure. Looks like I need to call my UK insurer to find out what confirmation I can get from them. Will carry on trying!
So if I have been driving for 23 years and never ever claimed, but only changed insurers this last year, will they ask for proof and if they do, how can I prove it? Thanks for your advice.
