Does anyone know of an English speaking doctor and dentist in the Amandola area? We are jsut preparing information for guests renting our house and realised that it woudl be useful to put in contact details. The pharamcist at Monte San Martino s
The Good Food Channel (Sky 249, Virgin 260) are currently showing a new series where Gary Rhodes travels to nine regions of Italy (Lazio, Sicily, Campania, Tuscany, Le Marche, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Piedmont and Veneto)
Think this is going to take some getting used to - probably much more functionality but at the moment there doesn't seem to be a structure - while structure can be restrincting (eg all the sniping on the forum about setting up new topics) it does
on how much you will use it (and how rich you are). We have an open fire in our house in Italy as it is only used at most a couple of weeks at Chrsitmas adn Easter and the cost of a wood burner was pretty exepnsive for occassional use. Haven't used the fireplace yet as house wasn't finished last Christmas (plus we have underfloor heating). Plus our land is surrounded by trees so can get wood for the fire for free. Chris
Our house is in Le Marche and was finished this summer. Can't help with the valuation (but would be interested to know). We paid about €25000 for our pool (plus ezxcavation costs) that's for a liner pool 12 by4 with a 2 by 2 paddling pool within it. You can see pictures pf wha I mean here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jepsonclough/sets/72157612290849956/ Chris
I just don't find the new forums as user friendly or interesting as the old foums were. Consequently I log in maybe twice a week if that and I suspect there are other people who feel the same. Chris
We paid (excluding excavation) about €25000 for our liner pool which is4m x 12m with a integrated paddling pool of 2 x 2. Still haven't worked out loading pictures but you can see pictures on flickrhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/jepsonclough/sets/72157612290849956/Chris
Gibas have great lights but for the nice ones they are incredibly expensive - we were advised to go there and we did by a few lights in the sale but many were around €500+ which for us (tyring to kit out a whole house) was prohibitively expensive.Chris
We only wanted a 32 inch tv which we bought in UK for just over £300 (Costco). At the time we couldn't find anything comparable for less that about €600 - other electricals (washer, oven, fridge etc) we got v good prices at elettroidea in Comunanza but TVs etc were very expensive. If you are only takin TV it''s not worth shipign cos but if you can get it in the car on an already planned visit then buy in UK. Not sure John Lewis extended warranty covers items abroad though so you woudl have oto get it home if if needed repairing. Chris
prices (even when exchange rate was £ =€1.20 (do you remember when we thought THAT was bad)) were much higher in Italy. Problme is transporting though - we had a van going out with furntirue, bedding etc sso it went in that. If you drive you could take it but I wouldn't trust baggage handlers with a tv. Chris
HiVia A Biondi 33Directions from main square. Go out of the main square towards Comunanza, down the hill past the shops. When you get to the bottom of the hill the main road bends round to the left. Bar Stazzioni is on the corner ahead. Via Biondi is straight on - go past the Conad on the left and the shop is a bit further along on the left. Chris
We didn't go for a wood burner in the end as we have underfloor heating but we did get all the tiles for the house and bathroom supplies (for 5 bathrooms) from Stefano -as well as speaking very good English he has a great selection (too much choice!) and great prices (and doesn't try to push you into expensive choices)Chris
