Succinct or what, first time round?Anyway, is anybody looking to upgrade and therefore dispose of an unwanted above ground pool? Ideally no less than 15 ft diameter.

We are just about finished with our house and are looking to let it out for holidays. We know we will have to pay tax and intend to declare any income in u.k.
Well, nearly at the end of our build and down to the nitty gritty bits. It seems that the venerable (and very ugly) corrugated iron garage that was on site when we bought is not acceptable.
I am hoping some of the friends in the Northern Tuscany area ( Group - what Group?) might be able to help. We are arriving this Thursday in the Bagni di Lucca area and need to buy some RAT POISON on the way in.
Hi everyone The lovely Ian from Euroman and van is delivering to us in our area (Bagni di Lucca) around the 19th September. I believe he may have space for a quarter load going down, not sure about going back.

Have been back one week from our trip to Bagni. The new house is looking good, we were all ready to put up the spiral staircase BUT... one step missing!
Hello everybody, and welcome to the newcomers - it looks like we will be meeting more Stranieri on our next visit. Advice needed - we usually transfer money to our bank in Italy in sterling - and get whatever the rate is over there on the day. An
A few weeks ago somebody was talking about a business transporting to and from Italy. I have lost the name - of course. We are looking to send a small load down to Bagni di Lucca to coincide with our visit in the first week of July.

Thanks Gala, Will definitely look at the two recommendations. As to the shed, both you and Fileda are right - it isn't that I don't want him to have it, but I suspect he may not really want it - hence spreading the net wider. Shamefully, after ten years in the building and all that to-ing and fro-ing, we still don't have enough Italian to ask around locally. Hey ho. Fabbriche
Ritaruth If your local Commune don't have a detailed knowledge of your area and what belongs to who i would be very surprised, and if they don't for sure your neighbours do!! We own about 4 hectares of woodland, some in bits and the our neighbours could walk us round it blindfold, if necessary! Have fun in your new home, the weather will improve soon and you have all those prima vera flowers to look forward to. Fabbriche
Hi Isca How exciting! We have used Euromanandvan several times for loads to Northern Tuscany but I know they collect all over England and deliver all over Italy. Not sure how big a van you will need but worth giving them a call.Just gooogle the name. Wishing you all the best with your move and new life in Italy. Fabbriche
Great story Gala It will be fun to catch up with the daughter on your return. We are heading out again at Easter time - can't wait! Fabbriche
Well said Gala! The lines of communication are well and truly open now, hence some of the unrest. For us in u.k. it is interesting and unsettling but for others, for example Egypt, the fact that the world can see what is happening right now must, we hope, affect the final outcome. Fabbriche
Thank you to Flip, Gala, Angie & Robert and Andiamo. See what a variety of people contribute to the Forum! I like the idea of befriending feral cats (we have seen some) but as we are only over a few times a year they may not enjoy the Feast or Famine aspect of our adoption. Befriending the Rat - again I don't think we could establish a meaningful relationship in the time. I think he moved in when the wormen were there on a regular basis with their lunchtime snacks. Looks like Andiamo wins at the moment - before the RAT chews through the tyres on the wheelbarrow. Will update next week on our return to England. Thanks everyone, I am not a regular contributor but I do enjoy perusing on a daily basis. Fabbriche
Thanks Flip We are out in the country so no cats nearby, and we will place the poison in the shed. Maybe a two pronged attack, poison AND rat trap. Don't like the idea of it suffering for days, but it has to go. I will let you know how it goes. Fabbriche
Karen - sorry to hear about the water. Not much too add about that but thought I would say what a lovely looking property you have created. Nice simple and simpatico restoration, and the town looks great. We have been having a new build done over the past 5-6 years. (It was meant to be restoration of a barn but the planners decided othewise). We have water from the beginning - how I'm not sure - bt what we are waiting on is a permanent electricity supply, as opposed to the temporary supply for building needs. Like you, we have no time scale for this, but as we are not about to go and live there, no problem. Good luck, and take the advice of the other Forum members - they have probably been through it too! Regards from Fabbriche
Yes Gala, you are probably right about small fry. Do you think Mr Berlusconi will be the first to publish his income? From cynical old Fabbriche
Carolina - Not sure where you are but we have used Euromanandvan several times for delivery and removal from us and our relatives in Bagni di Lucca. You can find them by Googling or ring 07739401732 which should get Ian. I wish you joy in the next phase of your life. Can't say WARM regards from East Anglia!(more like winter here), but best wishes anyway. Fabbriche
