I thought I'd tell you about something I read in the paper the other day.  Apparently Marche region is spending 12 million euro making sure that every comune is served by ADSL.

Is there any way we can have a sticky or make a post stay at the top of the list.

Hi all, I am trying to get the Ascoli Piceno ASUR13 to clarify the position regarding healthcare rights for permanent residents who are EU citizens. Currently, their ruling is that we may only have registration for 12 months at a time and that thi

My final recommendation for mountain restaurants (at least for the moment) is La Cittadella, again in Montemonaco. A wonderful mountain retreat with a pool with probably the best view in Marche!

Another lovely restaurant in the mountains. For good, hearty mountain food this is really excellent. We ate some of the best prosciutto I have ever eaten here, followed by cinghiale in Vernaccia with pappardelle - delicious!

I know this was on the old forum but I thought it was worth mentioning again. The restaurant Il Tiglio in Isola San Biagio (just outside Montemonaco) is something very different to the other restaurants in this area.

During my search for a document to take to the anagrafe office to shame the chap into giving me my permanent residency certificate, I found the state decree and subsequent circulars pertaining to the new (2007) residency laws.

Thanks for the info Helen. It does seem to be a problem we are having that is specific to the ASL in Ascoli Piceno. Another member in Macerata has also received their permanent registration with the health service. I now can't seem to raise the director of Ascoli whom I spoke to before. Avoiding me perhaps???

You're very unlikely to be able to use your UK sky box I'm afraid. The reception just is not good enough in this part of Italy without an enormous dish and even then other people tell me they lose the signal at certain times of the day. We have Sky Italia and it is fine as lots of programs can be switched into English if you want (including almost all the film channels). To find out if you are covered for ADSL go here: http://www.alice.it/verifica_copertura.html and check a neighbour's phone number.

Direct Line will accept your no claims bonus but the original statement from the UK is required and it must say how many years no claims you have not just the %age. The document from the UK must be less than 6 months old.

Your experience is not unique as I'm afraid it seems to be the case that ASUR13 (Ascoli) is applying different rules which in my opinion and that of my lawyer friend are completely against the law.  The problem is what we do about it......

That is a different area and I would be very interested to see what they say to you! Thanks.

Have you looked in Stefano Lucozzi's brother's ferramenta in Amandola? He has some really nice old style window/door handles near the door on the left. They are part of some kind of heritage range and look handmade and aged nicely.

Thanks for the info Jo. When you mention the tessera sanitaria, are you talking about the blue plastic card? If so, this is slightly different. In our ASUR, they give you a white slip of paper called a libretto sanitaria (as well as getting the blue plastic tessera sanitaria). Did you get one of these? If you did, what is the expiry date? Thanks in advance for the info!

Thanks very much for the offer. Can't think of anything at the moment. Do you also come under ASUR13?

I am completely open to suggestions but the reason I created the Marche Healthcare group was for stuff specific to Marche. There is already a Health topic and I left all the generic messages and my message with links to all the docs in the general Health topic as well. A lot of the stuff I am finding out is completely specific to Marche and does not apply to other regions so could confuse people. For example, it seems as if only the Ascoli Piceno ASUR is insisting on only issuing an annual libretto sanitaria (against the law by the way!). Another member in Alto Adige has successfully got her indefinite libretto with no problems at all. I had kind of assumed that the health messages relating to the whole of Italy would stay in the Health topic and anything specific to Marche (and probably boring to anyone else)  would go into Marche Healthcare. Does that sound reasonable?
