We have finally been told that we have planning permission to add a small extension of 25sqm and pool 10x6. We are just waiting for the official document to be sent from the Regione when the town hall fees become payable, which I am told are in t
We own a trulli which is currently used as a holiday home. It has been totally renovated and to protect it from damp we have where possible dug insulation trenches around the outer walls as well as put in french drains.
Our property in Italy, the house and land have always been a place of creativity and inspiration. Artists and writers have found that they often perform beyond their accepted level of ability and produced some fantastic work. Maybe it is the sere
Water for our property is collected from our roof in a stone cisterna, so it is only used for washing, flushing loos etc. To improve the quality of the water I have added Amuchina soluzione disinfettante (very much like Milton), which works well.
I have to admit that I have never been interested in gardening and hence have little or no knowledge. Fortunately mother nature is excellent at producing the most wonderful array of wild flowers in our small olive grove but of couse by late June
I maybe strong and tough but I want a strong and tough brushcutter to clear the grass/weeds amongst the 80+ olive trees on my 1 hectare plot that is not flat!

Thank you for your reply. I did want to check I was not paying 'over the odds'! I do need to find out whether it is 'full planning permission' because I thought it was an extension to the DIA because we restricted our planning to only 25sqm as you are allowed to add this area to provide essential services bathrooms/kitchens etc to a historical renovation. It also leaves the 'allowed planning' that is set out in the deeds to remain intact so that we could build another house on the land ( we don't)
For more info on dehumidifiers look on the EBAC site. I have one of their machines and it is excellent.
With a bit of searching you can find MT on the Internet. Not on an illegal file sharing site either!
Annec by coincidence we have just booked with Aardvark but for a week Sun - Sun in November - £38 - maybe you have booked a different time of the year or perhaps you haven't taken advantage of the discounts available. APH run the booking engine so search for APH discounts and you can normally get 15%. PM if you need more help
Yes Co-op are withdrawing the Electron card. Halifax Easycash account appears a good and popular choice - if you apply online they have an apology advising approval time has been extended beyond their normal 7 day turnaround because of invreased demand!
Just spoken to my wife who is an EFL teacher with DELTA, PGCE and she strongly recommends CELTA as it is more widely recognised and there is a misconception that as FBower points out that it is for teaching English to immigrants, which is unfair as it is broadly similar to CELTA - but that is how it is. So, if you are serious about a career in EFL then CELTA/DELTA is the way to go.
Thanks guys, I think the windows open is the way to go, Sagraiasolar have sent you a PM re the solar issue.

Whilst I prefer to drive, I think Ryanair are brilliant on price and service - yes service! You get what they advertise. What gets up my nose is the time, stress and hassle from leaving home and getting to the departure gate - If I drive, I can be half way to Italy in that time. One thing puzzles me FP - £1,000 for a single? Just checked Alitalia for the dates we are going in November (we also paid under £25! going with R) and it was £154 return or £95 single??
We did a similar route a couple of weeks ago and no problems, in fact very quickI guess you have to pick your time to go to avoid rush hours etc but we set off from Alberobello in Puglia at 5pm on a Friday went via Gotthard/Luxembourg/Dunkirk as booked on Norfolk Lines at 4pm on the Saturday. Having two drivers and keeping to the speed limits, we got there at 1pm and caught the 2pm ferry. Going at this time also had the advantage of hitting the tunnels/borders late in the evening so they were very quiet.
