Short of spending the next ten years in court, you should walk away, but it might be worth appealing to your landlord directly.

It costs, depending on the horse power and engine size as well as the infamous cavalli fiscali. Then there's the revisione - MOT and then you can drive without fear of being stopped by the carabinieri.
