Hiwonder if anyone can help?we have a house near Amandola, Le Marche, and are looking for a traditional wood burning stove around 7kW output. All the ones we have seen appear to be a little bit too modern.

I`m finding it difficult, and slightly ironic , that when travelling in the area I`m unable to get a good classical music station on the radio, just Italian junk music and discussion. Any tips?

Hi AllUntil we can afford the tiles for our new concrete floor we were thinking of laying down a sealent. Can anyone recommend a product we can buy in Italy and, if applied, would it have any adverse effect on any other adhesives?

Thanks guyswhen we shopped for light s for our place we were shocked by prices in some shops so went to Ikea, luckily, we only needed a few.Carolina   -   Thanks for the advice on log burners. Dont worry, he wont be able to sniff money on us! ( we aint got any!!) Judging by the other comments, he sounds like a bit of a Del Boy. I`ve come to the conclusion that we English definitely pay more for most things in Italy, nearly every day when we are shopping for stuff we often wonder how on earth locals are able to live. Answer: 2 prices!! I think that most retailers must have a "foreigner detector" hidden in the shop. Having said all that, we have been into some places and been treated ok as regards price / service.Do you have directions for the shop in Passo San Ginesio? Also, whats the name of the place which sells tiles at Ponte Maglio?

guys you have both been most helpful. Ithink I`ll try Stefanos first as its closest. On our last trip over in September someone we met mentioned a place which sells great tiles just out of Amandola on route to Ascoli (must be Stefanos), needless to say, we couldnt fing it. Dont want to be a pain in the bum, but do you have detailed directions?

Cheers Andrew, we`ll definitely look in on the shop when we return in November. That would be great if we could see the one working in your friends.

I though taxes and fees were standard throughout the UK, or are we being fleeced up north? As I said £0.00 to Rome and back for 2 but payind £130 odd quid in add ons.Have you tried Lpool/Rome then driving to your destination Farfalla? We have checked everything (we think) and it still comes out as the best way for us to reach Amandola area.

thanks all for your help.Andrew,I wonder if your shop on the way to Ascoli out of Amandola is the same one described by AnneC? Anyway, We`ll give it a try. You dont say whether they sell traditionalin style (not the poncy cast iron ones with "filigree")Do you know what kind of price I would expect to pay?

I didnt see the prog on Ryanair but have read all the comments with interest,so let me give you my twopenneth worth.totally agree with cilla10,capoboi and jepsonclough.we would not have bought our lovely house if not for cheap flights, and no matter what anyone says about them, they are cheap (if you go outside of school hols!) Just booked flights to Rome which cost just the (abominal!!) taxes/fees. Cant argue with that. Living up north we dont have as much choice as the privileged southeners (Christ, we aint even got a tunnel, unless you count the one to Birkenhead) and we have looked at all the options.I`ve had a few moans in the past myself about Ryanair, but,if I`m honest, they aint all that bad. I`m more worried about the apparent  lack of any moves by our esteemed government to halt the slide of the pound!!
