Hiwonder if anyone can help?we have a house near Amandola, Le Marche, and are looking for a traditional wood burning stove around 7kW output. All the ones we have seen appear to be a little bit too modern.
I`m finding it difficult, and slightly ironic , that when travelling in the area I`m unable to get a good classical music station on the radio, just Italian junk music and discussion. Any tips?
Hi AllUntil we can afford the tiles for our new concrete floor we were thinking of laying down a sealent. Can anyone recommend a product we can buy in Italy and, if applied, would it have any adverse effect on any other adhesives?
Hi Everyonei`m new tothis type of forum so please bear with me.we have a house in Monte San Martino,Le Marche which is close torenovation. We`ll be going over soon to carry out decoration, painting, staining, varnishing etc.
we went from Liverpool to Ancona, drove for 50 mins, visited a few places, bought a house, then................ now we fly to Rome and motor few a good few hours ,but its a fairly good autostrada and pretty direct although I dont like the autosrada Adriatico, too many wagons!! The worse thing is our flight leaves at 06:30 and although we only live 10 mins from Lpool airport, and my wife wont drive in Italy, I`m b......y knackered at the end of the journey.I hate Ryanair with a vengence and if there was an alternative, (believe me when I say we have checked everything!) I would use it, even if it cost me more. I`ll stop now before I really go off on one!!
Thanks SanGI was thinking of doing the garage type stuff but as you say it wouldnt be too good for tile adhesion at a later date. I have used the diluted PVA thing before but never thought of it to do the floor, its a good idea and relatively cheap. Cheers.
Ciao ToniI cant really help you in recommending anything but I`d just like to say that I fully understand your frustrations. I`ve been trying for a few years myself starting with night school then going on to the BBC series of books (Talk Italian) and now i`m on to the Michele Thomas CD`s, the ones were he interacts with a couple of students.I dont think I`m up to your level but I can just about get by and, as you say, when Italian is spoken back to you, especially at the normal rate of a machine gun......... I get totally flumuxed!!I take heart in the fact that everyone I speak to about this assures me that the more you speak and listen the easier it becomes, so I`m cracking on and will do the best I can. One of the first things I asked my teacher was, tell me how to say " can you speak more slowly please"
hi Sarah/MarkI`ve heard a lot about the various chestnut festas, could you fill us in a bit more? For example, do they have one in every village? They seem to be very popular.our favourite beach is Porto san Giorgio because of the sand, but we also like to people watch and you can do a lot of that there, but I also like Pedaso and I cant wait to get up to Sassotteto to ski. Have you been?John

hi JoBeen without a PC for a while and other problems so sorry for the huge delay.thanks for the advice. I find the Bricos very expensive. we got some paint mixed there which cost me an absolute fortune!! (and heres me getting on our builders case for the high bills he`s been palming off on us!!)I`ve seen the one you mention at Falerone which is now on my contact list. Cheers.
HiIs there anybody out there!!This is my umpteenth time in trying to reply. I`m having problems with my bloody PC!! So hopefully this is getting through. Thanks for the advice but we ended up going to our local ferramenta who supplied us with enough white emulsion to do the whole house!! Pity everyone tells methat the paint over here is rubbish but I`m determined to prove you all wrong (no doubt I`ll be crawling back with egg all over my face)
