This morning I read an article about Italy and I was very negatively surprised about what I was reading. The article dealt with a research of differences between South and North Italy and explains why the South is more stupid than the North. Accor
I have a quick question for you and hope you can help.Do you know of any charity organisations or projects in Italy ( more specifically Tuscany) ?I am doing research for a friend and that want to support a charity here in Italy.Thought I might be
During my last trip to Italy I ate the best Lasagne ever... Finally, I decided to experiment with cooking something typical Italian. Well, actually I did not decided yet.
Good morning everybody!I know well that we usually talk about Holidays in Italy here, but a friend of mine would love to go to Dublin by the end of August and asked me som advice about where to go and what to see and do.
Hi to everybody!Have always thought to join the Italy Community. I love this website and all its content. I am sure I will find many others who share this opinion.
Andrew, where did you find all those funny quotations? I couldn't help but laugh all the time while continuing to read :-)Great!Have a nice day, Monica
Hi Carl and Welcome to the community. I personally have never been in Liguria so far...but I definitely will go. Hear so much about it and have seen beautiful pictures. Are you actually living in the house you recently bought in Liguria? Have a nice daymonica

Hi Toni,I guess Valentina is right. I had the same probelms when I came over to Italy in 2001 and could hardly speak this wonderful language. I came over for an erasmus year at University (in Naples) and learned "real Italian" by speaking to all those nice people I met there. We just had conversations (in Italian for me and in English to help them as well). I truly believe that many would love to exchange language expereince with you. Just try.Let us know ... :-)monica
Yes...I've had so much fun this summer and I enjoyed every single day of my holiday. It was ages I didn't feel so good. Lay on the beach every morning after having breakfast wth granita and brioche (do you really write it like that and pronounce it bre-osh???) - strawberry was my favourite one - and have funny evenings. Only...it was just too hot for me, I am not used to such elevate temperatures. Now, I am looking at my pictures taken in Bella Italia and beam :-)However, I hope I can repeat my experience next year again...who knows, maybe same place and same people?
Hi John and Toni.Actually, a friend of mine decided to put an advert on the Italy website some months ago. She needed to sell her house in Italy, because she wanted to buy a bigger one (now that family has grown). I am not sure whether she already managed to sold it, but I remember her telling that she's had quite good feedback from her advert on the Italy mag website. Enquiries from UK and USA if I well remember. Sounds good...
Finally somebody decided to hit it on the nail and elucidate my thoughts about English tea! People down in Italy say I'm crazy that I lay in tens of teaboxes everytime I go to GB, because the Tea in Italy just does not taste like the one sold in GB, even if it is exactly the same brand!
Juventus, try pistachio pesto - a typical sicilian dish. Fry lightly onion, bacon in some olive oil drops and simply add the pistachio pesto. It is hard to find depending on where you live, but you can also try doing it on your own. It tastes gorgeous.
Have you tried contacting railways? They usually have reasonable prices and do transports to and from Europe. I'm not sure about the effect time, but maybe it's worth calling and ask.
Gromit, Undoubtely the Napoli Lasagne is the richest one. I had some recommendations from neapolitan people and wondered that they'd use more ingredients than all the others. Without besciamella but enough ragù, mince and mozzarella!I knew it ...it will be a hard choice!
