Does anyone know how to prepare the red and yellow bell pepper side dish, which is usually served cold. Are they roasted and then preserved in vinegar or are they freshly prepared and then left to go cold.

Have been driving in Italy on our holidays for the last five years and it is still a mystery of who is meant to give way on a roundabout.
My husband and I have been learning Italian mostly with the Michel Thomas CD's on and off for about four years now.
Hi, my husband and I are looking to move to Southern Italy in the next few years. My husband is a qualified mechanic here in England.
We are considering advertising our holiday home on the Italy Mag website next year and wondered if anyone has any first hand experience of having done so. We would be interested to hear if you thought it increased bookings much.
Rosella's pizzeria/ristorante is our favourite restaurant. It is situated in the main piazza of Sicili in Campania and is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Hi there, does anyone have experience of using satellite broadband for their internet in Italy. Did some research about three years ago and it was rather expensive. If anyone has got it, have the prices now come down and who are they using.
Ciao tutti, siamo John & ToniWe first fell in love with southern Italy in 2005 on our holiday to Sicili, which is near Policastro in the Salerno province of Campania.

We have driven through Switzerland several times with things for our house. We have taken purchase receipts with us, but have never been asked to produce them. They always seem more interested if we have got a vignette for our trailer than what we are carrying. We usually hit Switzerland via Basel and then towards Milan. Fingers crossed you will also sail straight through. Buona fortuna!
That's perfect! It is just what we want. Many thanks Modicasa!
Hi Annec The italian IBAN number is made up of a combination of 27 letters and numbers. The ABI should be the 6th - 10th characters and the CAB should be the 11th - 15th characters. The last 12 characters should be your account number. Looking at my english IBAN number the sort code is the group of numbers immediately preceeding the account number, so I would have thought that the five digits preceeding your account number should be the equivalent. All IBAN numbers follow a similar format, just some countries are longer and contain some letters in place of the numbers depending on how each bank is identified. As you have already given them your IBAN number I would have thought that they should have all the information that they need anyway. Have they said how many digits they need? Just in case you are still wondering, EFT stands for electronic funds transfer. Hope this helps Toni
We had the same problem here in UK and apparently they see their own reflection in the glass, think it is another bird and want to attack it. Like you we were so fed up of the marks on the glass and the gouges in the putty. My husband was reading one of the Stephen King books and it mentioned that crows/rooks don't like owls. We did a bit of investigation on the internet and there are such things as large plastic owls that you can buy. We did buy one and it seems to work. It was only about £10 from ebay. Here is a link to the one like ours http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Large-17-Plastic-Resin-Decoy-Garden-Owl-Cat-Bird-Pest-Scarer-Lifelike-Eyes-/130675037053?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_GardenOrnaments_JN&hash=item1e6cd6d37d If you put in plastic owl as a search on ebay several come up. Hopefully someone will ship to Italy too, or perhaps they have such things in Italy anyway. Good luck. Toni

...............Robertson McIssac. This is who we use and although we have never had to make a claim, so do not know how they would be in that situation, we have always found them very efficient in all other dealings and are reasonably priced too. They also cover for earthquakes. Here is a link to their page - http://www.rmib.co.uk/foreign-home-insurance
Buon natale anche voi da (sfortunatamente) inghilterra! Merry Christmas also to all of you from (unfortunately) England! Tanti auguri John e Toni
Hi Ram Hope you don't mind but we have PM'd you on these points. John & Toni
Bunterboy - we have done our homework over the last six years and have looked at other areas of Italy which do work out much cheaper, but always come back to Santa Marina and realise that we love that the best. We notice that you are over on the east side of Italy and perhaps that is priced differently too. We are happy with the price that we are paying for the amount of land that we are getting and where the location is which includes a beautiful coastal view. We plan on living there one day and therefore it has got to be right. Noddy - Good luck with your search for your perfect piece of land. Hope you are not too impatient, because as you can see it has taken us six years, but we have learnt quite a bit along the way!
Ram - We were not sure exactly what fees should be involved, so thought that we should put down all the details to save anybody having to ask any extra questions. We have since realised that we forgot to mention that a very small part of the total sq metres is classified as fabbr. rurale, although there is nothing to see there now (it is a little bit overgrown). Presumably this small part should incur lower purchase fees, but will have stamp duty on it? The scrittura privata that we have been sent, and been signed by the vendors does state the destinazione zona urbanistica as E/2 (zona agricolo). It also confirms that they have received the land by virtue of inheritance. There is also a paragraph included which says that the vendors guarantee full and exclusive ownership of the property for sale and that it is free from tax liens, vincoli and rights of way of third parties. We were given a copy of the visure when we looked first looked at the land. Many thanks for your quick reply. John & Toni
