Thank you for the suggestion! I guess maybe I am wary of the "southern most" islands. Me, the naive American who has maybe read too many books, seen too many movies, heard too many stories???? I have even had northern Italians tell me, "you go south of Naples and no one hears from you again"!!!!! Guess I will have to go explore there some time and see for myself.

Ohhh yes....Paestum. That was also on my list to check out this coming June. Seemed like a great place to investigate as I understand there are many Greek influences in the Paestum area. Just read this thread and it suddenly occurred to me, these folks are mostly all Brits, or there abouts. Keep in mind I am new here, but it's like "where's the beef"? Not that I am holding that against anyone (just kidding) but I was expecting to find mainly Italians conversing in this piazza. And by Italians I mean born and raised in the fine country of Italy. Do they not exist? Pardon my ignorance....naivety.......showing the proverbial slip. Could someone enlighten me? I truly do enjoy the read though.
I checked my "all messages" again and nothing from John and Toni. I will try sending on to them and see if they can reply. Puzzling! But yes I am looking for the mild climates but wanting desperately to be in Italy. I have lived with tough winters and snow up past the arm pits most of my life! Want to be finished with that. Thank you all for welcoming me and good wishes. Hope I can contribute to this community!
