Hi, Firstly - its got to be a diesel. Secondly I would question the value of the latest compromise 4x4's (meaning electronic 4x4). There is only one hope of ascending or descending the sort of hill you talk about and that is low range with diff locks, proper snow tyers, preferably chains and most important of all - Evel Kneivel levels of bottle - trust me crawling down a hill like that at 2mph is probably one of the scariest things you can do. Personally I have a Jeep Cherokee, does about 30 on a run (20 if your lucky round town) and during the recent weather here in the UK I was seriously thinking about fitting a snow plough to the front and hiring myself out. The perfromance was unquestionable. Seroulsly thou, you will either have to compromise on long haul travel or 4X4 effectiveness - its as simple as that
Hi Pendy I went thru something similar a couple of years ago. Are you just talking to the Geometra or are you dealing direct with builders. We are in a different area to you but in our area there are a lot of builders that dont have too much on at the moment, I think in this case a second opinion is definately worth looking at if you havnt done that already. One thing to be aware of, no doubt you will sign a contract with the builder/ geometra detailing a list of works, the moment you start adding an extra plug socket or change the position of a partion that initial contract becomes just about useless. You need to keep the contract up to date otherwise the bill can escalate rapidly and you might not be told about it until your asked to pay. good luck
Hi Elliven Sebastiano mentions the "communita montana" right at the top of the thread and amazingmarche refers to the "rural discount". Dont know if they are one and the same but a potential reduction in gas bills is worth chasing. Anybody out there that has any details?
Hi All. Ive been following the site for a while but this debate about gas has prompted me to sign up. I spend about six weeks a year at the house, about 50/50 between winter and summer. First winter we managed to burn our way thru about 400 lt in a week - that was a little distressing. We have insulated and got smarter (and wear more thermals) since then but still manage to use an awful lot of the stuff. Could anyone tell me the name of the documents you need to fill in to get the rural discount? cant remeber exactly what the last bill was but I do know that Eur500 didnt get us much over 500lt
