Where do I begin.................We find ourselves exactly where we didn't expect to or want to be.

Wrote a reply this morning but it seems to have disappeared. Glad you're sorted - that's the most important thing. Our architect thought it might be plusvalenza as per Rams suggestion but seems like it was something else - does sound like a bit of bullying - I'd keep hold of it as long as you can as if he really wants it you might get more than it's worth and that would be fab :)
???????? If the intention is to encourage people to not use this site then a good job is being done
Suspected Aspergers..............Give it a break! And if I knew how to write in Italian I would - and I'm not going to believe the million and one translations folks are now going to post for this one!
Perfectly put Flip
I'm one of those whose italian isn't up to speed with some of the stuff written on here - I'm doing my best honest - evening classes etc and when I'm over I take every opportunity to practice (much to everyones amusement!) - however when I'm on the forum I often don't have the time to go through the dictionary etc to make sense of things - some of us aren't living there yet so are a bit behind - bit like school in my case - could do better - and when it's translated by people who are fluent/almost fluent etc it's really helpful. As somoene else put I tend to miss out those posts where there's loads of italian on it and it maybe that I might have something useful to contribute but I'd never know!
I've just emailed my architect to ask him I'd suggest speaking to your commune too
For me the forum is about gaining and giving information (it's in that order as not having made THAT move yet what I can give back is somewhat limited.) To have some "positive" banter is fab but I personally dislike it when there's the odd left hook and personal attack - I'd prefer it if people took that off line. I also think (and this maybe through past history) that what is sometimes meant as mild saracsm is interpreted as a personal attack. I can also see that some people enjoy what they would call mischief others see as being malicious. There's always going to be a difference of opinion but me personally I would prefer it to be a bit more diplomatic than calling for example someone schizophrenic!
Free lessons as well - grazie mille!!! And I do mean it
My italian is not good to say the least - plenty of room for improvement so sometimes I turn off a post as I haven't got the time or sometimes the inclination to get a dictionary out. However I'm all up for people writing in italian if they could bracket the translation after...........I know I'm really selfish :)
I'll be flying back to the UK every other week for work so will only need half a suitcase of clothes etc - never thought I'd be filling the other half with beans though - so maybe one week suntan lotion and then the next beans (what a scintillating thought) - that way I can add in some new clothes that I'll just have to buy as well! Just remembered this thread is about being frugal - I guess though if I'm frugal in Italy I can spend what I've saved elsewhere???
