All this talk of geothermal energy, sounds expensive! What about solar power, energy for free? With our restoration project our geometra advised us to have solar panels shown on the plans.Basicly it will be funded through the bank via a loan this is p
Need advice on cost of renovation of roof/house is old farmhouse 120sqm/geometra says it needs new insulation to be bring it up to modern building standards. Also blasting of old plaster on exterior to reveal old stonework. Can anyone help?
Thanks Gala for your input, i think you are right in just small amounts to pay bills etc. Just to ask again are savings in the banks guaranteed up to a set amount ? In England i think you are compensated by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £50,000 is it similiar in Itay?
Thanks Fillide and Badger, the web site was very useful, now know what igloo is,never heard of this before, also noticed scudox this was used to isolate any damp around the outside walls, included with the land drains.Inside the geometra could not dig too deep,he did not want to disturb the old foundations.I should also say that the house is on the level and is not in a very wet area.
Thanks Alan, have emailed with my geometra and the stubbling block seems to be putting in the membrane. He says that any ground water will be taken care of with land drains around the outside of the house, internal work to include everything you have said but no mention of the insulation or membrane!Thats why i wondered if a building standard existed for this type of work?
Hi Penny, just wondered if you are a lawyer, you are so knowledgeble in these matters.Should have contacted you and not have been led down the garden path!!
Hello Penny, thanks for the info. When i first enquired i was told that i didnt need health insurance, but a couple of weeks before my application i was told that i did need it!Even consulted a lawyer,it was explained that my commune would only accept the private health insurance, although other English clients had not even to bother in another commune. The whole interpretation of this law is a complete farce,if what you are telling me is correct! Just what i said before some win, some loose.( i will now ask the lawyer about the form S2,at least it might help other clients)
Just applied for residency, each communes interpretation of the law is different!!Where i have applied they were insistant on the health insurance which should cover you minimum €30,000.They would not accept my N.I EEC health card. They also need to see minimum €5,000 in your italian bank .Yet not many miles away i was informed at another commune they were not asking for health insurance.Just try without the insurance, otherwise it cost me €300 because they needed to see the €30,000 health cover.Nothing is never what it seems, some you win some you loose!!Best of luck.
Thanks for that Chrisnotton, just tried what you suggest with my geometra, now no health insurance required. Will try slowly and hope the doors open for me.Slowly, slowly, your approach seems to work,Atessa
Chrisnotton (no-one seems to notice) We spoke before when i asked about the implications of being a resident How did you get around the personal income tax issue when you applied.
