Has anyone had any experience of these, whilst I realise they are not very practical if you live in the house full time, if you only occasionally visit, are they better than a ladder?
Well, I have arrived in La Lunigiana, my lawn is mowed, (thanks to my neighbour), I have spent a tidy sum at the shop over the road for anti "zanzare" (mosquito, stuff), went to my local bar last night 25 metres away - and it was empty, when I ask
Are people with Mild Autism worth employing? From my own experience on here - this forum - it is clear that the general public have little time for people with autism.
How does everyone here cope with rubbish when they only visit for a few days. Our commune now does daily collections, umido one day, secco the next, then vetro, and then around again.
This thread was started when I was under significant work pressures. But it's all dissipated now, it's funny how stress get's you down. Life is good again, and I am on the mend. I have funding for diagnosis, so the coast look's clear. I like established things and this forum alway's provided that when I was going through it. So sorry I reacted to another thread but that happens all the time - and we turn a blind eye to it - unless it really takes over the thread - and that's when the moderators kick in. Thank's Esme (and Rickardo) - for your insight into Italian peoples mentallity, I just knew through experience I wasn't a problem, whereas in the UK - I was, but the thing is in England thing's seem to be getting better all the time. We seem to be learning about people all the time and that's a good thing. Anyway off to Italy next weekend for a week or so, looking forward to it, I love italy.
"It was the highest hit thread on the forum at that time - some 25 pages long" It was the highest hitting thread - but Palio did overtake over time. "A thread that Anastasia was to take the mickey out of and say that it was going nowhere." She deleted her post - I think she was the 2nd person to respond. "This forum dissed me - and I also came out to this forum to some past history's of my life that haunt me - they werent so kind here - I tried to get back on the forum at a later date - but they ignored me" When I tried to return to the forum I was to be refused on several occasions. Everyone posts shite at times. And it is sad we dont know how to handle people with Autism, as we have people like Bill Gates, Einstein, Alan Turing etc. We just think differently - and get frustrated with the politics you burden us with.
Fair enough on words that only apply to Italian regarding types of taxes, Legal Terms, foods, plants, animals, places and traditions; but for God's sake is there an actual need to intersperse sentences with an Italian equivalent? HOW did these words get into the English language? And why dont we know the rest of the sentence? There are sometimes words without an equivalent - but relevant to the task in hand, are you saying we should break these words down into English words and break down the fundamental meaning. When learning a language - you grasp onto every word and then use it - sometimes building a sentence. Please can you for the purposes of this thread detail words that are NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED just so that we can be sure whats NOT ALLOWED
Further, in order to envelope yourself in a foreign language - do you not find it difficult to translate every Italian word you have learnt - into English just so that you can post on an Italian forum for the "English" - "only?" - are other Foreigners not welcome on this site. Sometimes - there are words that simply cannot be translated word for word into English - and enveloping yourselves albeit in the odd words of Italian allows you to build the sentences when you do need it - In Italy. You are not double translating. Heard a word in Italian, phrase booked it, re used it back - oh and now it means something different? At least if you start using Italian words on this forum - people can correct you in context and you might possibly learn from it. I feel this urgency to maintain all forms of communication on an Italian forum - to ONLY BE IN ENGLISH -stifling - and somewhat narrow minded - and as for my previous post - where does it all stop - are you refusing to speak any foreign words? Sorry I am dumbfounded as to why this thread was created. If you want to ONLY SPEAK IN ENGLISH then setup and English Forum talking about other countries - you Xenophobes.

Do you only watch UK/American TV in Italy? Or are you attempting to mix with the locals using English.
