Hi Everyone, Can anyone give me any info or websites which I could look at with regards to teaching in Iatly? I have been told that teachers there do not earn very well - so any information I can get will be appreciated! We are looking to move to Northern Italy and teach there, but we are flexible.Any websites on schools in Italy would be great! If you would recommend any schools, please dont hesitate to let me know which ones they are! Kind Regards,Tammy...x

There is a big reform going on in the school system here with lots of jobs being cut throughout the education system. I would definitely recommend researching that as you might find traditional teaching jobs very thin on the ground. Teaching English as a second language would of course be different. The last time I spoke to someone who was doing this she earnt between 7 and 10 euro an hour.

Hi,The prices cited above, around 10 euros pr. hour is also what I've heard for teaching at language schools. But then again, you might be lucky as english mother tongue teachers are well seen. The best bet would probably be private schools, pre-schools or international schools in your area.I believe that entering the public system is difficult.Ciao

You could probably find work in private schools,  but the sort of contract they give you is say only for 4 months at a time and then if they want to they renew it. This way you dont get paid holiday or sick pay, at the end of the contract  there is a little extra added on towards these things.I once worked in a high school   on a short contract the money was good, but we started the job in November and finished it at Easter and received our pay check in June, but nothing unusual in that.
