Winter in Venice

 We are considering spending winter in Venice (end of October through to late February.) Having fallen in love with the Cannaregio area we'd like to try to rent an apartment there. We have two small dogs, one  of which is diabetic so would need a reliable vet. Are dogs likelty to be a problem with renting? The Italians seem to be much more dog tolerant than the English! Can anyone help in recommending agents to approach to find a property or know of a reliable vet in Venice? Is it necessary to sign up to a lease? Are services usually included in the price?  Hi! This site may be helpful: www.dogwelcome.it I don't think that they have apartments; however, you can write to them in English and they may be able to help. We have always used their recommendations when travelling with out little dog and their advice has always been great. Best wishes
