I believe this has been mentioned elsewhere but in case you haven't heard 2010 celebrates the 400th aniversary of the death of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. There are numerous exhibitions and displays taking place in Rome, Naples and other locations around Italy, which are worth keeping an eye on if visiting this summer. I've heard about the exhibition on Italy Mag news, http://www.italymag.co.uk/italy/roma/caravaggio-scuderie-del-quirinale the exhibition will run till 13th June I'm fond of Caravaggio and his chiraoscuro technique!
