Restaurant Recommendations in Miramare - Rimini

07/13/2010 - 16:33

Hi All My wife and I (both in our 30s) are going to Miramare in Rimini for the first time in August for three days, cheap flight with Ryanair from Liverpool and we are staying at the Hotel Regina. The reviews on Tripadvisor seem to be good overall for the hotel and during the day we will be chilling out on the beach only. However at night I am looking for suggestions of where to go for good Italian cooking, nothing pretentious, quality ingredients, great atmosphere. For example a typical family run trattoria/pizzeria where the locals might go to. Nothing too touristy please. In addition to this any recommendations for somewhere good to have a glass of wine or an aperitivo would be also very much welcomed. All suggestions are welcomed Richard

We stayed in Rimini recently just for one night so can't give specific recommendations (wasn't there long enough). We asked the hotel and got a very good recommendation for dinner at a local (quite swish) family-run trattoria. IMHO Rimini probably isn't the place for the kind of rustic family trattoria run by mamma & papa with their doe-eyed children serving. It is a very touristy place and at this time of year will be packed.  Having said that I am sure the hotel can recommend a very nice local family-run restaurant for you. "casareccia" means homemade so I would ask for a restaurant with "cibo casareccia" or "cibo fatto a mano" whic literally means handmade food. Somewhere nice for a glass of wine or an aperitivo is a little harder as it depends on what you want. There are so many bars and beach chalets that you really will be spoilt for choice. Many of the bars will have a buffet included in the (more expensive to cover the cost of the buffet) price of the aperitivo. Some are swish and full of beautiful people, others very "beachy" so it depends on what you are looking for. If you give us a little more info maybe someoen else has some recommendations for the kind of bar/chalet you are looking for. Have a wonderful time!

Last year my family took me to this place www.osteriadeborg.it they are of the opinion that you have to hit the outskirts of rimini to get a decent restaurant. san guiliano is the otherside of rimini from miramare (airport) but a walk around the old borgo is worth while and really should not be missed. The meal at osteria de borg wa excellent and I will return when I go back in september.

Hi, Richard! I was in Rimini last week. I can advice you the restaurant "Carlos" with delicious meal and big portions.  The best Tiramisu in Rimini is cooked in this restaurant. I also liked tortellini and grilled meat. Have a nice holiday!
