Tax

I think many, have paid as there is much publicity about this everywhere.. we are only have the one house in Italy so Prima Casa is zero for us. A neighbor who is from the UK says that his tax on his Italian house is still half of the cost for UK house.

It will put people off being Italian residents.

why is that bunterboy? either you are resident in Italy or you are not, if you mean english people, most do not have residency as house is holiday home.

What I meant Paulo is that foreigners will be wary of taking up residence due to the plethora of taxes they could face if they have property and money in their motherland. Eg IMU on seconda casa and tax on savings even if in an ISA.

Our house tax has trebled we were payint 120 euro a year, and we now pay 360 euro a year, this is because it is classed as a holiday home, we are not residents in Sardinia, we love our house, and Sardinia, so although it makes it more expensive, we would not give up our Sardinian home
