Dear AllI own an appartment in Desenzano. I baught it in Nov 2013.I rented from March this year.The agent is telling me now that i have to pay IMU tax for 2 months of 2013 and for all 2014!! Is that correct or the tenant should pay the IMU??

IMU is the property tax and as the owner you are required to pay this to the comune, usually twice a year.

Thank you . So this is different from council service tax.

IMU is at the owners door. TARI (rubbish) is paid by the tenant. TASI - the new tax is half and half. Make of it what you will!
