I totally diasgree with the advice to use your Maiden name and I fear you were misadvised when applying for your Codice Fiscale. What Italians do not seem to understand is that our married names (should we choose to use one) become our legal names, not some adjunct chosen for simply sentimental reasons. Yes everything must match - CF, passport, driving license etc. I've no idea how to rectify this but in my experience more hassles are caused by having a CF in the wrong name than are caused should you ever divorce and change name further down the line. Good luck!
Crazy! Is it an Italian

Crazy! Is it an Italian problem based on numbers/legality whereby the most common thing on marriage is a change of name – I don’t know? But whatever, if you have a birth certificate it is most likely in your birth name…. A marriage certificate should say who you were at the time of marriage, so what’s the problem. This is a bit like the UK these days whereby identifying yourself is becoming more difficult by the day as security and fraud worries cause mayhem – best of luck getting it sorted.

Steve ,No problem, but if then the lady divorces and changes name in the passport, simply will have to prove that she is married and she is unmarried, they are the same person - In Uk, it is enough to have an extreme patience and in 2/3 months you get a certificate from the passport office, then it is made apostillary, then it is translated into Italian and apostillated again translated, to an office of the Italian prefecture - then you go with this document to the Italian tax office and hoping to find an employee available to this need - you are asked to change the tax code and link the new tax code to all the official acts that the lady has done in Italy with the tax code married - times needed from 2 months to ??I understand that in America is the same procedure, with the aggravating circumstance that if the lady has changed residence from one state to another, of the United States, she will have to ask for the documents both in the state in which she was born, and in the one in which she she is married ...
