It seems the weather has been a bit brutal in l'Abruzzo - following comments on their forum. www.abruzzolutely.com In Umbria the weather has been 'queer' - afternooon thunderstorms following unseasonably hot mornings - more like August than June. Much watering of pots necessary - what a bore.

Yes here in S Lazio v warm indeed and dry with a bit of a breeze which means constant watering but NOT for geraniums as they will stop flowering, allow them to dry out and then soak them - works a treat. PS recommend a spraying for the geranium butterfly - a right pest. Some plants eg busy lizzies can get too much sunshine and heat and fuchsias are a dead loss below 1000 m. The pool is clearing nicely and I think a dip tomorrow is called for!
