Speaking Italian

06/02/2009 - 09:25

I work on the outskirts of Leeds and live near York and would love to have the opportunity to meet for Italian conversation on a regular basis.  I studied an A Level Italian and whilst I can read reasonably well I don't get the opportunity to speak Italian as much as I would like.  I'm moving to Italy as soon as my business is sold but feel my conversational ability is going backwards since I finished my studies.  Is there anyone near here Leeds /York interested in meeting up.

Ciao Lorraine.  I really need someone a bit more advanced.  I have however found that there is a group meets at Borders Bookshop each month.  I can't make the June one as I'm in Italy but hope to make July.  This might be useful for us both.  Have a look ay Borders and/or What's on in Leeds and you will see the dates.  Not much detail so not sure of the format of the evening but it may be worth checking out.

Hi,as you can see from my name and profile, I 100% ITALIANA. It would be great to start a conversation in Italian. I would be very happy to help you.Feel free to contact me about your troubles with Italian language. Have a look to www.twitter.com/cinguettare , we give italian tips in "tweets". That's not an Italian course online, just a fun way to learn something more about Italian language, expressions, verbs and culture. Hope this helps and that you will find more italian speaking people in the area where you live.Valentina

Why don't you try SKYPE? It's free and you can link up with people  like me for example who, while not being teachers, do speak Italian and so you could have easy conversations with people who have suffered what you are going through, but now 'have done that' and 'got the T shirt'... and survived to come out the other side. LOL!At least with Skype it doesn't matter 'where' you, or they, are!
