A great little italian dictionary

You could maybe have a look at "Il tuo primo libro per imparare l'inglese" published by Larus; ISBN88-7747-563-3 that I bought for my new Italian 'speakeressa' aged 49 years young. Well illustrated and very simple, in a format of Q & A that at the top of the page asks you - in Italian - a question, and below you choose the answer from a page of 4 or so pictures accompanied with the Italian word. Divided into sections e.g. food; garden; house / home; kitchen; it can be used to prompt word search, or even costs so little that it could be cut up and the pictures / words distributed around the various rooms etc to act as 'Post-it' style prompts.As an (ex) teacher (you're never an ex-teacher) I found this book a really excellent resource.Andrew

I've been studying Italian for about 20 months and try to practice whenever I can.  When my 6 year old nephew first heard me say a few phrases he was fascinated (he's had a few Spanish lessons in school and loved  them).  Now it's 'how do you say this in Italian? How do you say that in Italian?' all the time  We're going on a family holiday together soon and I've been thinking about buying a book suitable for his age.  I'd like to teach him a few words/phrases and this looks ideal as I particularly wanted an illustrated book.  I think he'd find it lots of fun and no doubt I'll pick up a few new words too.  Thanks for the recommendation Alan!Colette
