Learning a language is a long process and doing it in a country where you cannot get an immersion into the language and culture creates many difficulties. You need plenty of patience and work and the idea to come to Italy for an intensive course is an excellent one. There are plenty of courses available in different cities and regions.Good luck with your studies.

Ciao latocaI do not have a strong scots accent as I have been away from scotland for years, but it is true scots people find itvery easy to roll their "r's"There is a small town in northern italy called Barga it is known as the most scottish town in italy, they even have a fish andchip festival in August, the website is very interesting Barga News.

I have been learning Italian for four years ,last year I spent a month (Maggio) in Firenze at a language school,the year before two weeks (at a different language school) I rented an appartemento in the Sant' Ambrogio district and loved it! My Italian is non molto buono but I will keep on trying until I am fluent . Next year I will do it again maybe in Lucca or Siena. It is a great experience and certainly challenges the old (in my case VERY old)brain cells.Tapping into the thread on eating etc,the local trattorias in Firenze were very good and reasonably priced e.g in a very small place called Gilda bistrot (piazza lorenzo ghilberti) I had THE most delizioso risotto.five people,self ,son ,and son's three amici had two courses each and vino for 100euro and it was very good quality .,especially for Firenze!

Easily done, isn't it!You go to click the 'Back to Top' button and OOOOPS you click the 'Save' button just above it instead!Difficult language this Italian. At least in English (I, you, we, they etc) and French (je, tu, nous, vous etc) give you a chance at the beginning of the sentence. But not in Italian. Straight in with a 'sono' or 'ho'. No chance there!

Salve!Really nice to hear that so many people wish to learn Italian Language! Of course you should find a good teacher but also be ready to make your own questions and doubts during the course. For that reason it would be better to look for private lessons or to start a course in a small school, so that you can take advantage of personal tutorials.I'll PM you with some good language schools.Valentina
