Milanese cuisine and that of Lombardy in general is not as feted as that of other Italian regions. As Milan is such a cosmopolitan city, drawing residents from all over the country and further afield, its inhabitants – when they go to restaurants, at least – often feast on piadine from Emilia-Romagna, panzerotti from Puglia or, of course, a classic Neapolitan pizza.
