An Italian aid convoy for Gaza will leave ''within a few days,'' Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said Monday.
The convoy will take medicine, power generators and other aid into Gaza, Frattini told the online daily ilsussidiario.it.
Italy will use its presidency of the Group of Eight to work for a future Palestinian state and the security of Israel, Frattini said.
Italy has had the six-month rotating presidency of the G8 since January 1.
