Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner has appealed to the sport's ruling body over marking she thinks may have cost her a third straight European title.
Kostner, 21, came second to Finland's Laura Lepisto in Helsinki on Saturday but believes the judges incorrectly failed to award her points for a spin.
The International Skating Union has agreed to consider the appeal.
Kostner, Italy's flagbearer at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, told Italian women's weekly Grazia she was hopeful about the appeal but ''more taken up'' by her love life with Italy's Beijing Olympics 50km walk gold medallist Alex Schwazer.
The 24-year-old race walker ''makes me spin like a doll,'' she said, echoing a song by 1960s pop icon Patty Pravo.
''We're thinking about getting married but it'll have to wait, we're set for years of hard grind,'' said the couple.
