American actress Christina Hendricks has admitted to having gained weight while living in Italy, report show business media sources.
The actress, known for her red hair and curvy figure – she is a UK size 14 [US size 12] – began her career as a model and spent a period working in Europe. In Italy she enjoyed pasta and cappuccino coffee so much that she gained 15 pounds in weight. She says the changes in her body shape made her look more feminine and sexy.
Best known for her appearances in the television series “Mad Men”, Christina Hendricks praises her mother for encouraging her to feel good about her body shape.
Her remarks about Italy echo those of another actress, Italian icon Sophia Loren, who famously said,
“Everything you see I owe to spaghetti.”
