(ANSA) - An Italian court on Wednesday said a key suspect in the failed July 21 terror attacks in London must be extradited to Britain.
The three-judge panel ruled that Hamdi Issac, who has freely admitted his involvement in the action, should be handed over to British authorities within 35 days.
The delay will allow Roman prosecutors to conclude their own investigation into Issac for suspected links to an Italian-based network of international terrorists.
Issac's lawyer, Antonietta Sonnessa, said he would appeal the decision. The Ethiopian-born Issac, also known as Osman Hussain, told Scotland Yard officials questioning him in Rome last week that he had not meant to hurt anyone in the attacks. He was arrested on July 29 in Rome, at the home of his brother, who runs an Ethiopian clothing shop in the capital.
