Diana Luna will be a member of the European Team of the Solheim Cup - the female equivalent of the Ryder Cup. She is the first Italian to enter the team.
The Solheim Cup will take place at the Rich Harvest Farms, in Sugar Cove - Illinois, from the 21st to the 23rd of August.
Luna won the place after come third in the Ricoh Womens British Open - the fourth and last big event of the season at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Britain.
The 27 year old Roman said she is "honoured and happy, especially because I got qualified on the basis of points and good results, which for me is very important. I will try to exploit this chance in the best way possible. I will give my all to help the European team to beat the American one".
