Ferrari driver Felipe Massa said Wednesday that he would rely on his lucky underpants to help him pick up speed in the Formula One season finale in his native Brazil.
Massa made his revelation after McLaren's Lewis Hamilton admitted to consulting spoon-bending celebrity magician Uri Geller, who claims to have psychic powers, ahead of his win at the Shanghai Grand Prix on Sunday.
Massa, who trails series leader Hamilton by seven points after coming in second in China, said his British arch rival's consultation with Geller ''didn't hurt anyone'' and admitted to having his own pre-match rituals.
''I have so many superstitions that if I gave details we'd be here for half an hour,'' he said.
''It's all a series of rituals that I try to repeat on practice and race days, like wearing the same underpants on Saturday and Sunday. Brazil won't be any different''.
''It's not the superstition that helps win races, but it contributes because I feel better, which I will do anyway in front of a home crowd,'' he said.
Hamilton needs only four points to claim the champion's title at the Brazilian Grand Prix at Sao Paolo's Interlagos circuit on November 2.
