The famously healthy Mediterranean diet can boost sex, Italy's sexual medicine society Siams said Monday.
The diet ''enables men to keep under control the levels of hormones including testosterone that are necessary for a good sexual performance,'' said Siams President Andrea Lenzi.
Not sticking to the diet and allowing cholesterol levels to rise can restrict blood flow to the genitals and ''reduce erectile capacity,'' he added.
Women's sexuality can also benefit from the diet, Lenzi said, citing a Naples University report listing bad eating as one of the causes of low female desire.
