Fiorentina's Romania striker Adrian Mutu will be out for two weeks with a thigh-muscle injury, the Florence club said Friday.
Mutu picked up the knock in Wednesday's 1-1 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich, where he opened the scoring.
He will miss Fiorentina's home game against Atalanta on November 9 and its trip to Cagliari the following Sunday but is expected to return for the home clash against high-flying Udinese on November 22.
The Romania star has already missed four of Fiorentina's ten Serie A games but his three goals have helped them into joint seventh place, five points behind leaders AC Milan and four adrift of joint-second-placed Udinese and Inter Milan.
Mutu's usual strike partner Alberto Gilardino is top marksman with seven goals.
