An Italian woman soccer player was banned for two years Friday for slapping a male referee.
The woman, Luciana Bon from the northern Italian fourth-division side Bozner, was found guilty of shoving the young official and then slapping him twice in the face when he sent her off.
Bon was the third member of the Bozner team shown a red card last Saturday against another Alto Adige outfit, Unterland Damen.
Despite finishing the match with only eight players Bozner managed to cling on to a 2-2 draw.
