Perfect weather for a trip out today, after yesterdays storms, so we went to Caldarola to see the Caravaggios and others at Le Stanze del Cardinale in the main square ( ends 12th Nov) and then on up to Castello Pallotta an ancient fortified castle

If its any help I direct guests to the nearest A&E, this is all in the information pack ,though luckily nobody has had cause to use it yet, other friends with apartments have not been so fortunate, but being on site and speaking Italian is a bonus, though realise this is not possible for all renters. Perhaps a contact number for emergencies of an italian speaker would be helpful ?. Not sure if A&E at Amandola is still operating, but Penny who is active on this forum may be able to advise. Pharmacists here seem to play a much more active role in health care, worth a visit to yours in Monte San Martino and they may be able to supply the information you require.
Thanks for posting that Anne, have just taken a trip around our village, shame i didnt end up at the bar though!.
May I have the recipe for Waterzooi plse Raggio?!, sounds delicious.
Seems to be turning into a debate on English versus Italian food!, I think what I have found here in Marche is that the Italians love their food, they have preserved its authenticity, and have a culture of eating well and heathily. To me everything tastes better than the UK, the tomatos, the vegetables, and the locally raised meat. Most is organically grown, and doesnt travel a million miles to be on your plate for dinner. And if I want comfort "English " food I will have mashed potato and sausages, so you can adapt your ingredients to suit your mood!, we are lucky to have a local Asian supermarket so curry is catered for as well. And I make my own pickles and jam, so no need to my mind to hanker for a dose of English ingredients?
I found a very nice one waiting for me a few months ago!, sometimes best not revisited. A

ICI does not apply to prima casa, unless it is in the luxury bracket. I am assuming that for hiller and la libera this is a holiday home?.
We didnt use a solicitor when we bought 5 yrs ago, but we did pay extra to our geometra/estate agent (at that time this was permitted) for the "hand holding" buying process, so searches were done by him and the bank account set up by him, and we still sometimes use him for advice, but rarely as our Italian improves and we have built up a local network of friends. It went very much against the English way of thinking, but for us worked out fine. Its up to what you feel comfortable with, and whom you trust.
Please would you expand on your "excellent" and cheap heating system, I would be very interesting in reducing bills and keeping warm. What exactly is the solar photovoltaic offer you mention?. And what are the initial costs involved. I am intruged by a "free heating system", so lets hear more.
