TARI Tax 2024

Just had my TARI bill for 2024.  I used the PagoPA website to pay it online

I had major problems with it not accepting my payment - it seemed to freeze after the card details were entered.

Travelling back from Lake Orta area in N Italy, we travelled to the Simplon Pass to reach our first overnight stop in Sion.

Imagine our delight to find that a landslide has closed the pass "for the foreseeable future"

We used to use Book Depository to get books for our Italian friends at Christmas.

Book Depository now closed.  Does anyone know of an Italian (or EU) bookshop that will accept orders from the UK and deliver to an Italian address?

You say;-    " ........... if you are buying as a private person from a private person for residential use you can pay taxes on catastal value ........" Does  'residential use'  mean just for use as your permanent residence - or does it include buying for a 'holiday home'? [Doesn't affect me - bought years ago, can't remember what taxes I paid]

Scan a blank cheque - black out the account number, signature area etc [in case it goes astray] - email/fax it to your friend - ask him to fill it in properly [I assume he'll know what is required]  and resend it back to you.  Then you can copy the details onto a cheque, sign it  and post it to him

I'd suggest you talk to your Architect/Geometra [or whoever made the Application for you] If you did the original application - why not talk to the Comune?

1.  Use the 'Community Search' facility [on the right hand side of the page about halfway down] and look for 'Wills, Inheritance, etc. etc.] 2.  PM Charlotte Oliver if you need detailed info - but do the search first, there's lots on the site about this question

The norm is 3kW It probably depends what equipment you have in the "small" apartment - You'll need a bigger supply [or a second supply for the apartment] if;-

  •  it has an electric oven [rather than a microwave]
  • it has any form of electric heating
  • It has an electric water heater [or does it use yours?]
  • It has a high powered electric equipment [washing machine, Dishwasher]

The reason I mention a second supply is that if you upgrade to 6kW, you will probably still have problems if you and they run your ovens etc at the same time, and then switch on something else Don't bring English equipment like toasters, hair dryers etc etc - they use more electric than the [lower powered] equivalent Italian stuff Don't use an electric kettle - put one on the hob If you set up the apartment as a basic one - microwave, fridge and hob kettle and small gas [bottled if necessary] hob, and supply hot water from your supply, you could well manage on 3kW  [My daughter and 3 friends 'blew' the 3kW supply at our house when they all used their hair straighteners at the same time] A

I agree with Gala - Assuming you were happy with the work carried out by the builder, let him have the shed - It not only gets rid of it, it may also put you in his 'good books' if you need anything else doing/repairing on your property

"..... As far as the Notaio, I could use the one my father has been recently using or find one in the area. ....." I'd suggest you do not use the Notaio that your father does - better one that might be more 'independent'.

As a suggestion - Other posters in a similar position to you have posted when they are doing a trip, to see if anyone has a 'part load' to fill the van on its trip, or a 'return load' to save coming back empty  [cuts costs all round]

He may not be a Moderator - but his is a very fair comment/request. [Anyway - constant repetition of adverts is often self defeating]

This has happened to me once or twice before If I remember correctly, the way around the problem is to add    ?page=1   to the 'address bar thingy' at the top of the page - then hit enter and it should take you to page 2   [similarly, adding   ?page=2     should take you to page 3  etc etc]
