TARI Tax 2024

Just had my TARI bill for 2024.  I used the PagoPA website to pay it online

I had major problems with it not accepting my payment - it seemed to freeze after the card details were entered.

Travelling back from Lake Orta area in N Italy, we travelled to the Simplon Pass to reach our first overnight stop in Sion.

Imagine our delight to find that a landslide has closed the pass "for the foreseeable future"

We used to use Book Depository to get books for our Italian friends at Christmas.

Book Depository now closed.  Does anyone know of an Italian (or EU) bookshop that will accept orders from the UK and deliver to an Italian address?

Didn't think the offer would last long - glad I got it though [that sounds selfish - probably is!] --------------- " ......... hope the queuing system works efficiently - and that roads from the ports don't get clogged with the drive-off traffic." There will definitely be a case for turning left at the docks exit onto the road up the [steepish] hill and back to London on the old A2, thus avoiding the crush through Dover itself

Surely a small handful of roughly chopped Basil added a couple of minutes before serving would add to the flavour?

"very few soups to be found in supermarkets around here in Marche" Up around Lakes Orta & Maggiore there appear to be numerous packets of soups - mainly minestrone, vegetable and lentil/bean/pulses - there must have been 20+ varieties on the shelves - but no tomato

"I like the brazier idea!" Watch out for 'noxious' fumes on the first few 'burnings - and don't breathe them in!

"I'd be thinking about lining the walls with something that didn't get so cold." The normal solution would be to either line the walls with insulated plasterboard or construct a 'stud' wall against the existing walls Either method would usually involve using professionals and would knock up to about 100mm/wall off of the size of the room -and things like power points and switches will need moving. If its just a 'small' wall that is the problem, you could cover it with dense cork floor tiles [and make it a pin board!]
