We did it - we finally had the 'BBQ Event of The Year' and we had a great night and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Well we just can't get Jessie out of the water and to celebrate her 9 month Birthday, we went down to our lovely Lago di Ruffino for a swim!
Did anyone just feel that earth tremor at 11pm. Here near Amandola it was very strong but short, the first we have felt for a while. Hope this does not mean there is worse to come.
Had a great meal in Da Cicco in Gualdo last night. Although it was 10pm when we arrived, Michelle the lovely waitress was very helpful and friendly (she is Romanian) and spoke very good Italian and English.
The devastating earthquake that struck the region of L'Aquila on April 6th 2009 is long gone from newspaper headlines and television reports.
The Marche Chapter are holding a BBQ to raise funds for the victims of the L'Aquila earthquake on Sunday 21st June, hosted by Sarah and Mark at their home Villa Conti (please pm Sarah for directions) from 3pm.
Please can we make a list of raffle tickets bought and add them on here when we have been notified. If we can try and just keep this post for the raffle ticket listing so that it is easier to add up. Thanks.
Please can we list here any raffle prizes we have collected or are donating, so that we can all see what we have:
More raffle prizes! - Sarah who works at Cicerone, the publishers of the walking book we found, has very kindly donated a copy for our BBQ. Anyone else collected any prizes - we need as many as possible!

Now we have been moved to the Fermo area and not Ascoli, would it be worth finding out their views on the matter, or do you think it would be the same? Thanks for all your hard work on our behalf!
Thanks so much Gala and Carol - your recipes are winging their way to New Zealand right now - will report back how my friends father gets on! (her mother isn't too pleased at the idea).
Hope your daughter has a fantastic holiday Penny and that the weather brightens up for them - they seem to have bought the English rain with them today!
New Roundabout. We have a new roundabout in Comunanza (sorry A & R) and it has totally confused all the old locals. Half of them give way to trafic coming onto the roundabout and the other half don't. The other day we even saw someone stop on the roundabout to answer their mobile phone. Many of the older folk are probably not even aware of the law changing several years ago as there are not many roundabouts round our way!
Thanks Fox, I will pass on you information. By the sounds of things it is quite difficult to get a mortgage in Holland at the moment, so Italy may be the easier option!
Hi Chris, Welcome to the forum. We are not very far away - near Comunanza and we have a few members here who live in Montefalcone. We love the Chestnut Festa in Montefalcone and the following week in Smirillo. Looking forward to it coming round this year. Which is your favourite beach? - we like Pedaso as it is not quite as 'posh' as some of the other resorts! Also they have been spending quite a bit doing it up and there are now some lovely restaurants/ beach bars. Looking forward to your posts. Sarah and Mark
Twitter How many of us have Twitter accounts on here - that's one way we can get this out to as many people as possible. Have already posted it once and asked people to RT, so if we can all do the same then hopefully someone, somewhere may take notice. Any luck Russ with the newspapers?
Thanks for warning us Big Bertie Bro - guess you must have been a bit scared really - sounds frightening to me. The only thing I like about those piggy things is eating them. My step-brother Rusty had a prickly thing in his mouth the other day, shaking it around and it hurt his nose. Not much fun either! Looking forward to our Birthday party - do you think we will get any dog chews as pressies? Thank your M & D for the photo's - you are looking good. Love Jessie
You could always go mule trekking in the mountains instead A & A - do you know if the library is open every day? - still have to get down there soon!
2 months Gromit - wow that was fast. We applied and had to wait over 18 months to get our phone line installed and 6 missed appointments (on their part not ours!). We even cut a couple of days in Rome short as they told us they would be arriving in the morning, so we drove back like mad, only to find they phoned an hour after they should have been here to tell us they could not make it for another 4 months! However, since all the initial hassle, we have been amazed. As we are in the middle of no where, we thought we would only get dial up speeds. But once we finally got our posts installed and our line connected, Telecom chap checked the line and we now have 7 mb broadband. We have seen other packaged advertised but so far sticking with Alice for the internet and use Skype Eurpoe package (unlimited calls for £4 per month to anywhere in Europe) for our phone calls.
