Does anyone know how Italy is for asthma. Having only been couple of weeks at a time just wondering for people there long term how they find it compared to UK. Also how they cope for treatment. Thanks

I have just read the youth unemployement figures - very worrying! 40.5% in Italy (20.7% in UK) which will only lead to more youngsters leaving the country to find work. Ireland lost 400,000 15-24 year olds in last 3 years.
Did anyone see the programme on BBC4 last night - Good Italy Bad Italy - very interesting if not depressing.
I remeber a few weeks back someone said they couldn't have an electric kettle on at the same time as water heater. Is this something that only happens in rural areas or is it everywhere?
I am appealing for help please. My great nephew 8 year old Jude is now really disabled with Muscular Dystrophy. He is a really happy little boy but due to his deterioration finding things to keep him busy is becoming more difficult.
I just booked 2 seats Bournemouth to Pisa return for £28 all in. I just love Mr O'Leary. x
Thought it might be interesting to know why people chose the area they now live in. Whether its because you have family there, just like the area etc.
We havent visited Rome yet so have decided that's where our next visit will take us!

'But they are selfish and do exactly what they want to do'that says it all...................
On the whole Italians ARE bad drivers. Driving is all about concentration - thinking about what you are doing and second guessing what others are going to do. That's why there are so many killed on the roads and the insurance is so high.
How hard is it to drive around Italy? According to where you come from is how easy or not. If you are used to politeness and good driving then you will find it most frustrating. They drive on your backside and never stick to their own side of the road, overtake on bends at speed, never signal their intentions and don't respect road signs ..... we have driven there on our holidays for years but this year it was the worst.. Good luck and make sure you take out the best insurance :)
finding this a very interesting thread thank you!
very interesting post LDV you give a good insight on your 'new life'
thanks Gala - very good advice (as always)
Thanks toscanaman. I hadn't heard of Symbicort so looked that up. I was on Becotide for years and decided just to have Ventolin as I didn't like taking steroids. Pollen doesn't usually bother me but changs in weather do.
Hi Ulysses. We have visited the area a lot over the years as my family came from Zeri. We keep looking but property prices (for where we would like to live) are out of our range. Zeri is in the middle of the mountains which we can afford but I can't stand the drive up there as the roads are bad and the drops horrendous!! We live by the sea here and that's what we would like there but I'm beginning to think we will never do it. The Garfagna area is cheaper but again is high up and the winter weather is pretty bleak hence a lot of Scots live there. There are a couple of people who live around the area on here so sure they will be along soon and give you some good pointers. Good luck. Joy
Cities in Italy are very small compared to US. Maybe you are discounting something as even very small villages are on Google maps. Good luck :)
I always hire with Hertz and pay their extra insurance on arrival. OK it's expensive (but the car hire is cheap!) and then never have any problems or worry and therefore doesn't spoil the holiday.
