I have a regular sum of money sent over from the UK every month. This month however the money left my UK account and has yet to arrive here in Italy (Banca della Marche).
I saw this comment from a Californian news item............Emerging Cuisines from Emerging Markets - As the world grows smaller, the selection of cuisines grows larger and guests’ palettes are begging to try new flavours.
It will take a quite monumental event to prise us from our wonderful life and friends here. BUT,................. what/where is the future for the younger generation here ?
Being a full time resident here in Italy, we are having a month or so on holiday in another EU country (not in the UK, our country of origin). Does anybody know what 'travel' related health cover are we 'entitled' to ?
I'm sure someone here will advise (hopefully)............I have some 30/40 false acacia trees (the ones with the spikes - ouch !), they have grown in the last 5 years to some 15/20metres high.

This tax malarkie is a right nuisance ! " taxed in the UK if other government pensions are also taxed" What actually, are OTHER GOVERNMENT pensions ? I want (yes want !) to pay whatever taxes we should pay, but these commercialiste seem to be a law unto themselves, if they are wrong 'we' pay all ways ? S
Mick chick...........I'll be intrigued at the responses,..does one HAVE to be resident 'somewhere' ? S
Whilst we are not in the same position as yourselves.............. I have always commented that I see little reason/benefit to be a resident here(we are by the way).....what benefits there are............minimal allowance on utilities, you save a bit on taxes when buying a property, but....... apart from the 'legal' position...........I'm not sure S
I have no idea what one should pay, I suggested €100-€150............as an answer to Lucy and Gerry's question.......... I thought that they were after a number as a guideline ? S
I just think the whole effort, cost and responsibility deserves at least €100...........and then there are bound to be hiccups ! We saw someone waiting for an arrival at 10pm on one night.............the arrivals had got lost ! €150 seems reasonable............. Good luck to those who do this ! S
If you assume 6 hrs.............4 hrs clean etc, 1 hr 'attendance' - travel, waiting, meet & greet, cost of laundry, etc, I can certainly see €100 being eaten into very quickly.............on top of this, there will be other unknown issues & costs. S
I would GUESS at about €100-€150 sounds about right, assume €50 per bedroom, the laundry, the cleaning and the meeting the greeting ? €200 sounds too much for an apartment, €100 sounds too little to get a proper job done? There may well be such a service provided by one or more of the forum users... Good Luck, S
