My husband is keen to take up fishing iwhen we go to Lago di Bolsena in Alto Lazio. Could anyone please give advice on how to get a fishing licence just for the lake please ? Thanks.

I thought I had got this sorted out and knew how much I had to pay but looking on our Comune website to see what aliquota they had decided on I found a link (whch also apperars on other Comune websites mentioned in a previous thread) called Calcol

No more complaints from me (for a while....) about Ryanair! I have read with interest, in the past, posts complaining / lauding Ryanair and my sympathies have tended to be with the complainers. Not any more .... at least for a while.

We have only just discovered VPNs (which I don't really understand!) to enable watching UK TV including Sky Go in Italy and had mixed experiences with the one we signed up to for 1 month as a trial.

Hi again....since my original post we had to change our VPN from expattelly as, when it came to renewing, they were overhauling their site and could not renew at the time we needed. We signed up with strongvpn and they have been very good. There have been a few difficulties connecting various tablets/ipads but they have a 24 hour "chat now" feature and they have always sorted out the problems satisfactorily. And yes, we can get ITV and BBC.

We are in northern Lazio and laurel hedging, which seems to be very popular in our village, was planted by the builder/previous owners. It has the benefit of growing fast and thickly but I agree with others here that it is a real pain to keep under control. Gala's suggestion of asking at your local nursery seems a good idea.

I am sorry that I don't have any useful info on those but there are some really knowledgeable members who I am sure can help. Like you I have been drawn back to Italy (mainland) because of my parents being Italian. I hope that you have a successful time in Sicily when you visit.
Thanks Spud. Sorry for delayed thanks but have been away. We will investigate the Ufficio Forestale when we are over together as his Italian is not quite up to it I think. It beats having to drive into Viterbo for a licence!
Thanks everyone. It was just the way that the first choice from the side drop down menu did not use the classification A which confused me - instead it had "abitazione principale" and the C categories I mentioned above. All sorted now. No separate pertinenze as the garage is underneath and no outhouses, chicken sheds, rabbit hutches nor moats with duck islands etc (joking!)
Thank you Penny and Gala. As ever you have come up with great advice. You are right Penny because when I clicked on the first category - prima casa - and then scrolled down to the bottom of the page there was the calculation in tiny font and it was the same answer I had originally worked out. I haven't changed the house since it was built 5 years ago Gala so will still be in the A2 category but I can see that others might be affected.
