We have the basic Sky contract here in Italy and used to be able to purchase Premier League matches on Primafila where the games were listed with a code and you could select and pay individually for those matches you wanted to see.

My husband is keen to take up fishing iwhen we go to Lago di Bolsena in Alto Lazio. Could anyone please give advice on how to get a fishing licence just for the lake please ? Thanks.
I thought I had got this sorted out and knew how much I had to pay but looking on our Comune website to see what aliquota they had decided on I found a link (whch also apperars on other Comune websites mentioned in a previous thread) called Calcol
As there is such a wealth of knowledge in the Community I wonder if anyone has any advice/ suggested links about this query which I am posting for a friend who lives in Italy and is now an Italian resident.
Wishing all Community members a very happy New Year. Let's hope that 2012 is going to be better than the pundits lead us to believe. Whatever happens la bella Italia will come through it. I'm an optimist - and raise my half full glass....
Apologies if some of you have a sense of deja vu but, as the only reply to my earlier post under Ryanair charges for using credit cards etc was from Andiamo (thank you!), I thought I might get a better response under a more specific heading.A frie
No more complaints from me (for a while....) about Ryanair! I have read with interest, in the past, posts complaining / lauding Ryanair and my sympathies have tended to be with the complainers. Not any more .... at least for a while.
We have only just discovered VPNs (which I don't really understand!) to enable watching UK TV including Sky Go in Italy and had mixed experiences with the one we signed up to for 1 month as a trial.

Thank you for this. It seems lovely and unspoilt. The landscape seems very similar to parts of Northern Lazio where we are but we have more tourists especially in the summer.
Hi Jenta. Yes - you can buy a few at the same time - they last a year I think from when they are used ie when you have communicated the new PIN to Sky. We did buy 2 at 25 Euros each when we were in Viterbo in October and then kicked ourselves for not buying a couple more in order to avoid all the hassle. I was just wondering if any Community members local to us had found any other outlets which sell them. Thank you though for your good advice. Wish we had been a bit more forward thinking when we bought the last lot. In season there are so many English football matches on Sky that the credit soon gets used up. I don't watch the football much but my husband does. It is my job as the better Italian speaker to track down and buy the cards!
Hi Alan and thank you for your reply. Yes, you can recharge the Sky Pass by phone and, it is easy to do, as we have set it up with one of our Italian mobile phones so a text message to Sky is all that is needed BUT the problem is that you have to have the 16 digit PIN from the new recharge card ...... and you can only buy the recharge card in Sky shops. Although the website says the recharge cards are available from "Sky Center and Sky Service" shops this is not the case. We have tried many of the small shops providing Sky services in our area and they do not have the recharge cards. They point us in the direction of the Viterbo shop I mentioned in my earlier post. I got excited last week when I was in Italy as the GS supermarket on the outskirts of Viterbo had some flyers up saying they sold the Sky recharge cards but when I asked they said that they did not have them. It seems to be very easy to get Mediaset recharge cards but not Sky recharge cards. Perhaps there is not the demand ........ or perhaps there is some other reason!!
Whoops - as the post was taking some time to submit I hit the submit button again hence the duplication. Does anyone know how to delete a post please? Gavin please see my message below.
Welcome Gavin. Good luck to you and your wife with your plan to move to Italy. There will be frustrations, as with any move, but I hope it all works out and look forward to hearing about progress.
I am not sure why lisiamc but my relatives in Italy seem to use qua a lot eg viene qua. Perhaps this Italian to English site may help? You will have to register and log in but it is free and I find it very useful.http://www.garzantilinguistica.it/
Hi tasso. I have just got back from Italy where I discussed with the electrician the best place to site the Gewiss restarter and he advised that it could either be sited next to the "salva vita/trip switch and fuses box OR next to the ENEL white meter with trip switch. You may need to get an electrician to investigate the reason why the main trip switch keeps tripping but it is feasible to fit the restarter next to it. As far as I understand it (and I am not 100% sure so you need to make your own enquiries) if the switch trips more than 3 times in 3 minutes the restarter will not switch the current back on again. Nor will it work if the fault is due to the electric circuit being faulty/dangerous. I hope this helps.
For those who are interested, the one fitted for the friend of a friend wasGEWISS SERIE 90 RESTART GW 94 819P There are a wide range of restarts as can be seen on the following web page (though the catalogue is dated 2008) and it might be a good idea to seek advice from an electrician as to which is best for your system. http://www.gewiss.si/FILE/ZGS/CAT08_90RESTART_GS_EN.pdf
Thanks Noddy and I am glad that you have found the Gewiss has almost sorted your problems. Hope you get 100% solution. I was beginning to think that I was the only one whose electric current went off in storms as no-one replied!! Glad to get your reply Noddy. Thanks.
Hi CherylWelcome to the Forum and good luck with your project. I too can recommend Mondo Convenienza (Gala Placida's suggestion). Though there is a joke that it is "Mondo Inconvenienza" we have found their Viterbo outlet very helpful and the delivery men very good. There is a delivery charge I seem to recall but that seems to include putting the furniture together - a good idea as it probably avoids a lot of stress and some marital disharmony!
