We have the basic Sky contract here in Italy and used to be able to purchase Premier League matches on Primafila where the games were listed with a code and you could select and pay individually for those matches you wanted to see.

My husband is keen to take up fishing iwhen we go to Lago di Bolsena in Alto Lazio. Could anyone please give advice on how to get a fishing licence just for the lake please ? Thanks.
I thought I had got this sorted out and knew how much I had to pay but looking on our Comune website to see what aliquota they had decided on I found a link (whch also apperars on other Comune websites mentioned in a previous thread) called Calcol
As there is such a wealth of knowledge in the Community I wonder if anyone has any advice/ suggested links about this query which I am posting for a friend who lives in Italy and is now an Italian resident.
Wishing all Community members a very happy New Year. Let's hope that 2012 is going to be better than the pundits lead us to believe. Whatever happens la bella Italia will come through it. I'm an optimist - and raise my half full glass....
Apologies if some of you have a sense of deja vu but, as the only reply to my earlier post under Ryanair charges for using credit cards etc was from Andiamo (thank you!), I thought I might get a better response under a more specific heading.A frie
No more complaints from me (for a while....) about Ryanair! I have read with interest, in the past, posts complaining / lauding Ryanair and my sympathies have tended to be with the complainers. Not any more .... at least for a while.
We have only just discovered VPNs (which I don't really understand!) to enable watching UK TV including Sky Go in Italy and had mixed experiences with the one we signed up to for 1 month as a trial.

As I got no replies to my post last week I did some digging and am posting this in case anyone else needs this information. There is a benefit called Integrazione al trattamento minimo which is paid to make the income (or pension) up to the minimum limit set by the Italian State. The minimum amount is set yearly and it also takes account of the income of a spouse. It seems possible that it is payable to Italian residents from other EU countries who meet certain conditions. I spoke to our local INCA CGIL office here in London (who are always really helpful) and they suggested that the best thing to do is to contact an Italian office of INCA CGIL (preferably the provincial office rather than one of the more local offices), take all the paperwork/documents to them and they would advise and deal with any application.
Sounds good Sabina. No idea, I'm afraid, what they call them in Italy - or if they use this sodium or potassium metabisulphite but I see that if you put Campden tablets into ebay UK there are a lot of sellers and they seem to post to the EU. This is the first one which came up. The Cntrl click does not seem to work but you can copy the link and paste it into your browser. 50 tablets would keep you busy in wine etc brewing for a while! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Youngs-campden-tablets-pack-50-camden-tablets-/180798482996?pt=Home_Brew&hash=item2a186dea34#shId
Buona Pasquetta a tutti. A little late but good wishes to all.
On another forum about aviation in the North West someone posted that 6 destinations were being dropped from Liverpool - including Milan Bergamo in addition to Rimini and Rome Ciampino. No-one seems to know why but suggestions are that Ryanair may be expanding operations at other airports eg Manchester or just consolidating. Perhaps Easyjet or someone else will take over some of the routes?
Good luck godzillavilla. You must have vision and patience in abundance! Look forward to seeing how the renovation is going and when it is finished it will be wonderful. We bought our house nearly new and that was stressful enough!!
I am no expert but can only go from experience. When we sold our flat in Italy there was no capital gains tax payable in Italy as we had owned it for more than 5 years. However, as we were tax resident in UK then we had to pay UK CGT. Do you mean that you have owned the property for less than 5 years?
Welcome Bella and I hope things work out for you. Good advice, I think, sebastiano. I assume you already know Italy well, Bella? Anyway, we look forward to hearing how your plans are going.
I do enjoy a glass of Aleatico now and then! Gradoli's best "export"! However, I do agree with you about Capodimonte and its beach. Don't know if you have seen photos of the Tuscia region during the snow emergency? I found them on Tusciaweb in the photo galleries - link below. It doesn't seem to like Ctrl + click so you may have to paste it into you browser. http://www.tusciaweb.eu/
As no-one else has posted a reply to you yet, tusciafolly, and as a near neighbour of yours when in Italy, (south side of the beautiful Lago di Bolsena) I thought I would post this but am sorry that it is not very helpful as I am not a "techie"! Yes - I am fairly certain you need a phone line for Sky Fastweb. We do have a phone line and use Telecom Italia which, though pricey after the initial offer period, has been very reliable to date. Our neighbour gets his phone and internet through Vodafone and a dongle and seems quite happy with it but I think he uses the landline which was installed when our houses were built a few years ago. If you look back a page or two you will see a post headed Vodafone and one of the replies from Fillide on 5 Feb is about Vodafone without a landline. Before our village got broadband a year ago some other neighbours were using Eutalia with a "receiver" of some sort on the roof. We did look into this at a shop in Montefiascone but because of cost decided to go for Tiscali dial-up until broadband came. Hope you find a solution.
Filide the photos are almost unbelievable. Thank you for posting this link. The last time I can remember having experienced snow like that was when I was at primary school in the late 1950s in East Anglia. It is good to hear that some of the local Comuni have helped with snowploughing tracks to your houses and generally finding out if you are all right and have food etc and that there is a general sense of community making sure that people are all right. We have heard from friends in Northern Lazio that they too have been snowed in by deep snow and drifts. We have had nowhere near the amount of snow here in NE Herts - a good fall last Saturday night and a further inch or so on Thursday but that is all. However, as in the Midlands, La Dolcevita, and in Italy, the temperatures have been well below freezing. Looks like it is going to warm up a bit here - ie not below freezing, for the next few days at least.
