Someone just pointed this out on Facebook. Do not look if you are squeamish. How utterly disgusting.

I saw something very briefly about this on the news today. I believe it is an anti-tax evasion law. Anyone know anything about it? Have I misunderstood? Are they actually referring to the requirement to declare any money sent abroad?

I posted a letter today and was told in the Post Office that all the CAP codes for all towns in Fermo & Ascoli provinces had been changed. For example Amandola has gone from 63021 to 63857. I think it also affects other regions too.

OK, it's been a while since I did an update but the Mayor of Amandola had very kindly agreed to take it up with ASUR13 on my behalf so I was waiting for him. He unfortunately got no further and was given the same reason of needing to "count" us as

Just wondered if anyone knows if our baby will be able to be an Italian citizen or not. The Consulate website is a bit unclear. I was under the impression our child could only claim citizenship at the age of 18 as per below: "1.

I don't know. My friend used €3,000 worth of gas the first month she was here (bigger house). Needless to say that didn't last. She put on some jumpers and had 2 woodburners installed !!

I saw that today. I loved the notice they have. Sky also still list it on their website as an available channel so can only assume someoen has thrown their toys out the pram!

What a horrible position to be in. I can recommend solicitor Charlotte Oliver (who is a poster on here) who works at a law firm in Rome. I know other posters have used her services and I have been very happy with her services.

Answer to: Sterling £££

I think Capo Boi makes some interesting points but "house price appreciation in sterling terms has more than outweighed the higher sterling cost of living in Italy" is only true if you think you will ever take your money back to the UK. For the many people like me who recieve their income in sterling and have no intention of returning to the UK, things have got a lot tougher due to the rise in the Euro (or is it the fall in the pound?) and this is definitely not offset by any house price appreciation in sterling terms. Fingers crossed for the heady days of 1.45!!

Answer to: Tow Bars

You'll need to ask at either the office of Motorizzazione (good luck!) or ask a driving school that registers foreign vehicles/converts driving licences. All towns have one but you'll need to find one with helpful staff.

Sabe yourself a big headache and find out which models of towbar are "approved" in Italy for your vehicle. We bought a car in the UK, had a towbar fitted and because the model (despite being approved by the manufacturer and having EC type approval) does not appear on the Italian list we either have to pay the fee to have this type of towbar put on the list (thousands of euros) or get another one fitted which costs a lot of money here - over €500! It was not about having to have any type of specific Italian fittings, it was just not on their list. We have done nothing at the moment and when we go back to the UK we'll get the one that is on their list fitted. We're going for the soft option. I don't have the energy for a fight at the minute. But Badger, thans for this document. I will give it to the guy sorting this out for us and see what he says.

Just remember Italsure & Intasure are different companies - just in case anyone else was getting confused like me!

Thanks Steve. That is very worth it then.

It is only for holiday homes though? Would that invalidate it if you took out residency at the Italian house?
