Hi everybody, I'm looking forward to going to our Casa in Calabria in three weeks time. I will be going on my own this time so I will have to practise my italian and do all the driving!

Hi Everybody, We had a wonderful 3 weeks at our little Casa in Calabria. For the first week we relaxed and enjoyed being in Italy. The next 2 weeks we were D.I.Y.crazy!!

Hi I have just had my 5th Italian lesson...and boy was it hard work!! I wish I could wake up one morning and be fluent in Italian!

When we booked our flight out to Lamezia we never expected to be mopping up rain inside our Casa!! We arrived on the sat evening and had a drink or two at our fav wine bar on the way home. We even sat outside as it was so warm.

Hi, Having just got back from Calabria and Im driving as normal here in Bournemouth,why do I have such a worry on Italian roads?? Im normaly a good and confident passenger & driver in UK but in Italy im a nervous wreck!!

I have already been through all 8 C.Ds of Michel Thomas's many times! My O.H.seems to retain all the knowledge & he's 18 years older than me!! We regularly go over these blooming C.D's, sometimes I'm sick of Michel's voice! I only have one lesson of an hour a week as I can't afford any more. My O.H hasn't a clue that I'm having lessons so that must mean there's very little improvement or he would have noticed!!! My lesson yesterday was a review of what ive learnt so far, I do understand more but putting it into sentences is quite another thing. My teacher seems quite happy with me so I'm going to carry on with her lessons until we go back to Italy in April. Its so hard going over nouns,pronouns etc. Still I need & want to speak Italian with my neighbours . Sigh language can only go so far! In our little village it's all Italians (thank god!) so speaking english gets me nowhere! We can't wait to go back!!

Ive just watched the youtube video of the mudslides....frightening!! It doesn't say where in southern Italy it happened. Im hoping nowhere near my little house(very selfish of me I know).

We have at long last just booked flights to Lamezia through Ryanair. We booked Bournemouth to Pisa then Pisa to Lamezia,with only a couple of hours waiting in Pisa.Brilliant or so we thought! Today we got an email from Rynair saying our 2nd flight from Pisa to Lamezia was being altered from 5pm to 10am!! Not good for us as we dont get to Pisa until 14.30. This means we either book a hotel in Pisa and go the next day or cancel both flights and start again and possibly lose money in the process! As its all Ryanair's fault they might give us a refund on one flight but not two.Going to look on their website for more info!!
